Welcome to Auckland Memorials, the home of beautiful letter carving and noble memorial stones in the North East carved by a genuine time served craftsman.  

Auckland Memorials was founded by master mason Adrian Hopper who, as well as having a lifelong passion for the art of the carved letter, is a past mason to Durham Cathedral as well as a college and university graduate. Now with experience spanning three decades some of the most beautiful memorials in Northern England are produced here.
The art of stonework runs in my family and I worked on the restoration of the east end of Durham Cathedral from 1993 to 1996.

I pride myself on delivering a lasting monument to honour your loved ones and provide a bespoke, quality service whilst keeping the cost as affordable as possible.

I am also a former British Serviceman and have carried those meticulous attention to detail qualities into my work as a master stonemason
